It’s cheap, tasty and available in your nearest supermarket.
After I began eating dark chocolate, around 85% and over, my brain power increased a lot. I know what I’m talking about here, because over the past two to three years, I’ve been unemployed, mostly because of horrible cognitive functions. I did have some other problems with getting back to work, yet dire mental functions remained as a primary obstacle to employment.
After I gave up cannabis, the problem was still there. Being sober has helped, but not that much to be honest. It wasn’t until I changed my diet that things improved and when I finally went for dark chocolate, my mood elevated properly and my cognitive functions became much clearer.
Initiating a new healthy eating regime can be costly at start.
Dark chocolate quickly became an expensive habit and recently I ran short on cash, so I came up with an even better solution: Cocoa powder. Adding this little ingredient to my morning smoothie has made such a massive difference. I’ve cut spending, cut calories and improved my life even more. I find this even better than dark chocolate to be honest. At the time of writing, I am still at the cheapest baking cocoa powder. Here is my smoothie recipe for the super brain:
- 200 grams Low-fat Yoghurt / Kefir etc. (Skyr in my case)
- 1-2 bananas, depending on their size.
- 100 grams frozen berries.
- 2 properly topped tablespoons cocoa powder.
- 100 grams low-fat milk to liquefy the blend.
The quantities are estimates to get you started.
If you want a great tasting quick mental boost, check out this simple and fast cocoa recipe.
Boiled low-fat milk, cocoa powder and honey. Mixed together for quite nice warm cacao, or try it with water instead of milk. I do not go sparingly on the ingredients by the way. If you have a problem getting your kids to eat healthy, believe me, these recipes are pure candy! Let your children make the smoothie. They’ll love watching the colours blend.
Once you are ready to upgrade your grocery bill, check out raw organic cocoa powder. It’s light brown as it hasn’t been roasted yet and contains even more cocoa energy. Remember that you need less amount the purer the cocoa. Lastly a little history. This super food was used by ancient warriors in South America and has been included in military rations for centuries.
Ready to take the leap to a better you?
Thank you for reading and may you drink many cups of cocoa,
